Florida is a frozen hell!
It is positively freaking cold in Florida this week.
That is difficult for yankees like me who moved from the Great White North to escape the frozen tundra. I mean, I don’t even own an ice scraper. What the hell am I supposed to do when I find frost on my windshield. I suppose I could finally put my maxed out and overly interest inflated credit cards to work in some functional capacity once again.
Anyway, this is what it looked like when I got up yesterday morning to begin my two hour drive to Orlando for a planning meeting of the HR Florida Conference Committee.
All I can say is, it sucked! How are you dealing with the cold where you live?

Global Warming is a lie and Florida is becoming a frozen wasteland. (video) http://ow.ly/UhM4
Did you ever see “The Day After Tomorrow”? It's not a very good film, by many standards, but it was the big Climate-Change-as-Apocolypse film starring Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal a few years back. It depicted the Statue of Liberty up to her armpits in snow. Don't get me wrong; “The Day After Tomorrow” is not your best source for credible science, but it makes my essential point a tad more dramatic
And my essential point is this: Climate and Weather are two different things. But Climate Change causes Extreme Weather. If you think it's weird that frozen iguanas are falling out of trees in Florida right now, you're right. If you think that's a good reason to stop recycling and burn up all the fossil fuels you want, I'd beg you to reconsider.

@Red Seven
Saw it, it was a sucky movie, but I get the point. I am afraid that is where Florida is heading this week. There are predictions of sleet and snow this weekend. This what we get for allowing the NHL to put hockey teams in the South US, rather than keeping them up near Canada where they belong!

I get a kick out of doing them, even though I have a face that is perfect for radio. Seriously, I enjoy bringing a different take on some topics, and being able to show more or me to the blog readers…makes a different kind of personal connection!

My dogs are going to have to start wearing longjohns soon!
Canada Goose Jackets…might be a little extreme for Florida…but perfect for the great white north

I think I see some geese outside the window here at work!
It was 15 degrees this morning when I got up, in Birmingham Alabama. Alabama. It's not supposed to get that cold here. We handle these temps only marginally better than you guys.

It almost that cold here again today (Saturday), and I agree with you. It is NOT supposed to get this cold here!
The good news is that we will get a reprieve a lot faster than most of the United States. That’s why I live here.
