Defining Your Employees
Steve Boese wrote a post the other day about a guy on a television show who called himself “The Situation“, rather than using his real name. Even though “The Edge” of U2 has done this for years, it is still a fun idea. Steve played around with nicknames for co-workers who might do the same thing. I thought it was fun, and came up with some of my own:

- Cover of Drama Queen (Candy Apple)
Here they are:
The Bubonic Plague – the employee who spreads waves of unseen death and destruction throughout your organization, slowly bringing the entire culture to the brink of extinction.
The Hurricane – the dude who starts out slowly with a lot of gray clouds and disturbances on the horizon that build and build, and then suddenly strikes with unmatched fury, or just sort of disappears, leaving behind blue skies. You never know if or when they will strike. You can only hunker down and hope for the best.
The Drama Queen – is an icon, and really requires no explanation, only attention!
The Flat Tire – the employee who suddenly deflates, leaving the entire organization unable to move until they get fixed.
The Forest Fire – usually ignited by a thoughtless act, these people can generate sudden furious destruction, and can be very difficult to control.

Hmm, just an interesting observation here. All of these are descriptions of negative people. As I sit and think about it, it’s easier for me to come up with names for negative people as well. But what about positive ones?

@TOm feel free to leave any that you come up with in the comments section.
Here is one to start you off:
The Heart of Gold – that person in the office who just can’t do enough to aid and assist anyone and everyone who might have the slightest problem. They can always be counted on to have kleenexon their desk, breathe mints after a mexican lunch, and an open ear when tough times come calling!
