HR. It’s alive!
The next three days make this week a big week for me.

First, I will be attending my first meeting as a member of the HR Florida 2010 state conference planning committee. I am very excited about this opportunity for several reasons. It is my first ever service with a SHRM chapter at the state committee level, and it rocks that I know a bunch of the members, including local Tampa folks like Carol McDaniel and Lori Goldsmith. What I am really jazzed about is that I am going to be handling various components of the social media track for the conference, including coordinating a group of guest bloggers. I’ll be talking to various people to try to figure out some new twists on live blogging and doing social media at an HR conference.
Secondly, I am going to be a guest on tonight’s edition of HR Happy Hour, along with China Gorman and Frank Roche. We will be discussing the Life and Death of HR. Steve Boese has prepared an excellent reading list for getting ready ahead of “class”. So you have your assignments, catch up on your reading and join the discussion on the HR Happy Hour Show, Thursday October 29, 2009 8PM EDT, call in 646-378-1086. and join us tonight! Third, Friday is my fifth wedding anniversary. My wife Kyle and I got married in 2004 in Las Vegas. I am think I am going to surprise her and take her to dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Tampa.
